Stable Foundations for Sewer Lines
Stable Foundations for Sewer Lines
Restumping, sometimes called reblocking or re-levelling, is the process of replacing old or failing stumps that support a house. Over time, traditional timber or concrete stumps can rot, crack, or sink into the ground. When this happens, the house above begins to show signs of movement such as uneven floors, cracked walls, or doors and windows that no longer close properly.
We restump homes across Perth using our engineered Hexplate foundation system. Instead of pouring new concrete pads or setting more stumps, we install galvanised steel plates that spread load efficiently into the soil. This creates a stable, concrete-free footing designed to last the lifetime of your home.
When sewer piling is needed
- Settle or voiding along sewer lines or rising mains
- Movement or sinking beneath sewer infrastructure
- Trench wall instability during deep excavations
- Bearing failure below pipe supports and thrust blocks
- Upgrades or repairs that require new stabilised footings in restricted access areas
Where we work
- Sewer lines and rising mains
- Sewer infrastructure along trunk and reticulation routes
- Trench excavations, utility corridors and service shafts
- Access roads, hardstands, loading bays and plant slabs
- Civil and utility sites in metro, regional and remote areas
What we deliver
We design and install pile supported and stabilised foundations for new works and remediation:
- Pile supported footings or foundations for sewer infrastructure and pipe structures.
- Load transfer and underpinning where bases or supports have settled.
- Excavation retention for deep pits, trenches and service shafts.
- Void filling and soil densification beneath access roads and hardstands.
- Ground improvement to increase bearing capacity and reduce settlement risk.

FAQ
Do works require shutdowns of sewer lines?
They are different terms for the same process: replacing failed stumps and re-levelling the house above them.
Can you work in confined or tight access areas?
Hexplates are engineered steel footings that spread load more effectively, avoid excavation and curing delays, and are eco-friendly compared to concrete.
What if groundwater is present?
We plan for dewatering or sealed installation methods and select technologies that perform in damp or saturated soils.
Can existing bases or structures be retained?
Hexplate systems are engineered for long-term performance and are designed to last.
